Trust Training Day 2018
On Wednesday 5th September 2018 The Wensum Trust held its second joint training day at Hellesdon High School.
Over five hundred teachers and teaching assistants had an inspiring and activity filled training day with the theme of providing every child with the best possible opportunities that our Trust can provide.
The morning started with presentations from John Smith, Chair of the Board of Trustees, and Gerry Batty CEO, about what being part of the Trust means at every level and how it should enhance our work and benefit all the children and young people in the Trust academies.
Guest speaker Sir John Jones gave an insightful and inspirational talk around ‘The Magic-Weaving Business’, which describes how powerful an impact teachers and teaching assistants have on young people and how learning can make a profound difference in their lives.
At the end of the talk Sir John was given a rousing reception by everybody present who appreciated the heartfelt message and reaffirmation of their vocation.
The delegates were treated to a wonderful buffet lunch provided by Wensum Trust catering staff, before breaking out into individual schools and curriculum areas where the cauldrons of knowledge, skills and understanding will start bubbling ready for the year ahead.
