Reception Blog week beginning 28.09.20

Hello,

Well the weather has continued to challenge us this week but we have tried to get outside when it's just been drizzling and not full pelting rain! The children really love outside play and are becoming more confident in their play and making relationships with the children across both Reception classes. They are getting more independent at putting on their waterproofs and wellies too as they have had more practice!

I hate to mention the Christmas/winter word when it is only just October but we have started doing our Christmas card designs. These are then sent home and if you would like to purchase a pack of cards with your child's design on you can. All instructions will be sent home when they are ready and there is a letter to explain. The cards are made professionally and the children are really proud of their creations. They do look really good when they come back.

This week we have continued to assess the children across a range of areas and the children are happily carrying out the activities.

PE for the Y1s this week has been in the form of lots of outside physical activity which they have really enjoyed.

We have done more of our RSHE curriculum and the children are learning about calm time and the characters who feature in these lessons - Jenie is a jigsaw piece and Jerrie Cat helps them stop and think and is our new class pet! As you can imagine the children love these characters already.

We have also been reading lots of stories and the children are still having a bit of relaxation time in the afternoons which really seems to benefit them.

Have a good week!
