FOBS (Friends of Burnham Market School), the school’s Parent Teacher Association and a registered charity, includes all parents, careers and staff. FOBS has a dedicated team of committee members who bring together the children, the members and the local community to create and run amazing fundraising events and to generally support the school’s efforts to have a positive effect on the children’s learning experience.

Achievements during the school year 2018-19:
Volunteers worked over many weekends to clear and improve the school’s woodland and outside areas, including laying the woodland path and incorporating more play equipment (tunnels).

Events and fundraisers included a jumble sale, Bag2School collections, film nights, the Burnham Market Christmas Market and Lights with sheep, children’s personalised Christmas gifts, the school’s Christmas production stalls, a Valentine’s Disco, singing at the Burnhams Grand Prize Draw, a Bingo Night, the Summer Fete, the Burnham Market Flower Show carnival float (and won Best Float) and Circus Ferrel.

FOBS gratefully received generous grants and donations from Aviva, Harold Moorhouse Charity, Norfolk Superhero, many local businesses and members of the local community.

FOBS raised an impressive total of £22,307, and funded a new Beach Hut, revamped Seals class garden, Butterflies of Britain woodland developments and lessons, the woodland path, benches and parasols, Holkham Woodland Week 2019 (including resources) and more.

Aims for the school year 2019-20:
FOBS will be holding many regular events with some new activities, and aim to raise funds to continue the outside enhancements by providing a shelter for the field, weatherproofing of the Beach Hut, a new Turtles class area, additional break time play equipment, continued funding for the Butterflies of Britain Woodland School and by paying for Holkham Woodland Week 2020 for all the children. Attention and funding will also be focused to Dolphins and Kittiwakes classes.

FOBS very much appreciate all help and support, and look forward to welcoming new members.
