Year 6 Transition 2020

Year 6 – 7 transition

We understand that transition from primary to secondary school can be a very stressful time both for parent/carers and students. We now have the added stress of the effects of Covid-19. Currently schools are closed to the majority of students until further notice. However, the transition team are still working to ensure that this year's Year 6 cohort have a smooth transition.

We usually offer a range of open evenings in the summer term for parents and students to attend. We are keeping a close eye on the ever-changing government guidelines; if dates need to be changed/postponed we will keep you up to date via the school website and via email (if we have your email address). Transition week is incredibly successful and enables students from primaries to have a real taste of secondary school life. We are hoping that this will still go ahead; if not, we will endeavour to do something similar in September.

Currently the only thing we are asking parents/carers to complete is the Admissions Pack. This was posted out to parents; they were posted just before lockdown, so all parent/carers should have received them already. If you can complete the Admissions Pack and either post it to school or email to

At Alderman Peel High School we pride ourselves on our personal approach to transition and we are trying to ensure that we are available to answer any of your queries regarding transition.
