Year 2 Home Learning for Summer 2
Hello all, we hope that you’ve had a good week and enjoyed the sunshine in your gardens and on walks.
We will miss not seeing you all on Monday but know how hard you are working at home and are so impressed with the work we have seen on Purple Mash and talked to you about on the phone. You really are doing super! The home learning for this half term will be very similar to what we have previously been setting, purely as you’re using it so well and we figured it is easier to stick with what we are all used to!
There will be a new batch of Purple Mash 2dos set for the start of this halfterm for you to have a go at. Every day we will add 3 new daily challenges to the work folder named ‘Daily challenges’, alongside this a new daily blog will be posted with links to White Rose Maths, Pobble 365, Oak National Academy and a daily surprise link too!
Every week we will add a new topic grid of about 9 activities to the work folder name ‘Topic Grids’.
We are also creating a new folder in work, this will be called ‘Summer 2 Learning’ (this will appear during the first week). In this folder you will find extra activities (if you wish to do them and to break things up a bit!) these will include the handwriting PDF for Summer 2, some reading comprehension resources and extra learning such as maths. We will also keep adding to the work folder ‘White Rose Maths Worksheets’ on a weekly basis.
We hope this gives you a variety of activities to complete at home and by work being saved in the work folder you can access it as you please! We have loved seeing photos of your work on the blogs please continue to share these, it’s great to see what you’ve been busy doing!
We also wanted to reassure you that plans for transitions to junior schools are currently underway as we have now reached that time of the school year. The junior schools are thinking about the different ways they can make contact with their new children and we have been chatting to the Year 3 teachers to find out more. We will update you as soon as we can and once they have finalised their plans. Please try not to worry as the junior schools are busy getting ready and working hard to ensure next year, although different, will be a positive start for all of their new children and families.
On a final note, we will both be carrying on to keep in contact by calling. This will be over a rough period of 2 weeks, so we aim to speak to you all once every 2 weeks. Take care and carrying on being amazing!
