Magical Costumes Bring Stories to Life at Kinsale Infant School

Children at Kinsale Infant School stepped into the world of books as they celebrated World Book Day with a colourful day full of imagination, creativity and magical costumes.

The school playground was transformed into a living storybook as pupils arrived dressed as their favourite characters. Pirates, princesses, superheroes and little monsters filled the playground, with many children proudly carrying the books that inspired their outfits.

One child came dressed as Mary Poppins, wearing a bright blue dress, while others arrived as dragons, knights and explorers from their favourite stories.

Teachers organised a range of activities throughout the day to encourage reading and creativity, Staff at Kinsale Infant School said the day was a wonderful way to inspire a love of reading from an early age.

“World Book Day is all about celebrating stories and imagination,” Mrs Clennell said. “The children put so much effort into their costumes and it’s fantastic to see them so excited about books.”

By the end of the day, the school had been transformed into a place where stories truly felt alive, reminding everyone that books can open the door to endless adventures. 📚
