Governors, staff and pupils at Lodge Lane Infant School would like to welcome you to our website.
Our approach to learning, which is based on Imaginative Inquiry, offers a creative and dynamic curriculum with a wide range of opportunities for our pupils to experience. Children enjoy coming to Lodge Lane, where we strive to ensure they develop a positive attitude towards learning.
A massive thank you to Avian Dance School for three wonderful dance trips. The children absolutely loved their day with you! Thank you to Mrs Surtee and Mrs Farmer, our PE leads for arranging such an inspiring experience for our children.
23 May 2026This week the children in all year groups have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in 'Sports Week.' They have experienced a whole range of sporting activities from tri-golf and javelin, to the sprint and relay race. This year, we focused our Friday morning session on team building and children completed a variety of challenges in mixed aged groups. It was delightful to see how the older children in the school supported and encouraged their younger friends. Their creative thinking and problem solving was very impressive! #challenge #teamwork
22 May 2026We're looking forward to Sports Week this week and keeping everything crossed that the weather is kind to us! Please do a sun dance for us! Remember, your child needs to wear PE kit every day this week. They need their team colours on the day of their sports afternoon with parents and also on Friday for our team building activity morning and relay races.
17 May 2026In Reception this week, children have shown a specific interest in dinosaurs and used the outside area to make a 'dinosaur world'. They have enjoyed creating different zones and pathways by sweeping, brushing and raking the rubber chip away. It has been lovely to see just how creative they all are! Year 1 have enjoyed learning to program the beebots and have also been working hard on learning to tell the time - working on o'clock and half past. Year 2 have been busy putting the finishing touches to their seascape paintings. They also loved their trip to Avian dance on Wednesday and had a great day baton twirling, cheerleading and trying acro dance and street dance. We had a lovely email from Avian complementing the children on their lovely manners. Well done, everyone!
15 May 2026Fantastic turnout for the Park Run this morning! It was so lovely to see so many of you there. 2k is a long way for little legs and the children (and parents) did brilliantly! Well done to the three Year 2 children who led the warm up too. We can't wait to find out how much money has been raised from the sponsored move. Not long to go now for the challenges to be completed. #challenge #parkrunuk #activekidsarehappykids
