Reading Ambition for All: Teaching children who need themost support, including those with SEND (RAFA)
The Reading Ambition for All programme has been thoughtfully shaped using expert guidance from disability charities, leading academics, the EEF, validated SSPs, school leaders, practitioners, Ofsted, the Reading Framework, and the SEND Code of Practice. The programme explores the appropriate teaching, support, and provision of phonics for children who are not reading at age-related expectations, with a particular focus on those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). Drawing on the latest research into how children learn to read—and the most effective approaches for those who need specific adaptations—the programme equips participants to confidently assess, plan, and teach reading to all children using the guidance and resources from their chosen SSP. With such a strong evidence base, Reading Ambition for All ensures every child receives the high-quality, inclusive teaching they deserve
