Biology Week Success

George, in Year 13 brought Biology Week to life last week.
Biology week is an annual celebration, organised by the Royal Society of Biology, that raises the profile of bioscience achievements and the vital work of biologists.
George has shared what activities he had organised over the week:
"Last week, we hosted competitions asking students to think of new ideas for useful and original human body parts, as well as creating their own artwork of any species of their choice.
We also ran multiple activities in the Library, including DNA origami, Petri-dish artwork, and - most importantly - a Biology Spelling Bee, which saw a considerable number of students competing to correctly spell some extremely difficult biological words!
We're very impressed with the number of students getting involved with the activities going on, and especially the amount of effort we've seen in all of the competitions - well done to all students for taking part and a special thank you to Miss Gardener and Mrs Oz for helping facilitate Biology Week 2025!
