Y12 Photography Competition

Year 12 Photography students were recently set a challenge to produce a photograph that could be used as an advertisement for an item of footwear.
To add to the pressure, their work would then be judged by professional photographer John Rogers who would select his favourite image.
John's 40 year international career has included everything from photojournalism to working on film sets to being Sir Elton John's personal photographer. Having recently given a talk to students about his illustrious career, John was happy to return to Hellesdon to judge our students' latest work, "especially when confronted by such raw talent emerging in the world of photography, already at such a high standard." He added that he was, "blown away by the students abilities, especially the chosen image".
That chosen image was produced by Lauren W, who reimagined astronaut Buzz Aldrin's famous photograph of his footprint on the lunar surface, updating it to advertise Nike trainers. A brilliant idea, superbly executed. As John said, "It is out of this world!"
