Sixth Form visit The Houses of Parliament

Last week we took 29 students to The Houses of Parliament.
The visit included a tour of the main parts of the building which included Westminster Hall where the late Queen Elizabeth 2 was laid in state for the public to pay their respects.
A chance to stand in the Houses of Commons (which is a lot smaller than it looks on TV) We were then lucky to spend a short time in the public gallery of the House of Lords, who were debating the End of Life Bill.
After the tour the students also took part in a workshop, which involved them putting together a manifesto for their own constituency, with some really interesting ideas to debate about.
"It was an incredibly interesting experience, the guides were informative and easy to ask questions to. I would recommend it" - Y12 student
"I enjoyed the trip and listening to the debate was interesting. I enjoyed applying my sociology studies into real life situations, I think it's definitely a good trip to go on" - Y12 student
