A Fantastic First Mixed-Year-Group OPAL Lunchtime! Today marked an exciting milestone as we enjoyed our very first mixed year group OPAL play lunchtimeand what a success it was! We were incredibly proud of all our children, who embraced the opportunity brilliantly. It was wonderful to see children of all ages playing together, taking turns, sharing resources, showing kindness and helping one another. The playground was full of creativity, cooperation and happy faces. The responsibility and teamwork shown by the children was fantastic and reflects the positive attitudes we are seeing through our OPAL journey. Thank you to all of our pupils for making this such a successful start. We are so excited to build on this amazing foundation over the coming months as we continue to introduce new aspects of play and create even more opportunities for fun, creativity and adventure at lunchtime. Well done, everyone!
05 Jun 2026Year 6 OPAL Fun! After yesterday's torrential rain meant we had to postpone their session, our Year 6 children finally had their turn trialling the OPAL equipment today – and it was certainly worth the wait! Just like the other year groups, Year 6 fully embraced all the exciting play opportunities on offer. It was wonderful to see their creativity, teamwork and enthusiasm in action. One group even built a shelter and then decided to enjoy a picnic underneath it! Well done, Year 6. You received lots of praise for the way you engaged with the activities and made the most of the equipment. It has been great to see you embracing these new play opportunities and, most importantly, having so much fun.
05 Jun 2026Congratulations Year 4! This week, all of our Year 4 children successfully completed their Multiplication Tables Check (MTC), and we couldn't be prouder of every single one of them. The MTC is the culmination of months of hard work, determination and perseverance learning their times tables. Throughout the year, our Year 4 pupils have shown incredible commitment to improving their multiplication knowledge, whether in lessons, intervention sessions, practising at home or completing their regular Times Tables Rock Stars homework. Most importantly, our children approached the check with resilience, positivity and a willingness to do their very best. Whatever their individual scores, every child should feel incredibly proud of what they have achieved and the progress they have made. Well done, Year 4! You have worked exceptionally hard and thoroughly deserve to celebrate this achievement. We are all very proud of you!
05 Jun 2026DREAM Award Assembly 5.6.26 Although we weren't able to come together in the hall for our usual weekly DREAM Award Assembly today due to some workshops taking place in the hall, the celebrations still went ahead! Mr O'Malley and Mrs Robinson visited each classroom to personally hand-deliver our DREAM Awards and celebrate the achievements of our wonderful pupils. Well done to everyone who was nominated this week – we are incredibly proud of you all. We also recognised a number of other fantastic achievements, including more Half Millionaire and Full Millionaire badge recipients. In addition, we celebrated an unprecedented number of Rock Heroes from Year 4! Their success is a testament to the hard work, dedication and determination they have shown in the lead-up to their Multiplication Tables Check. Finally, we were delighted to celebrate two amazing mathematicians whose enthusiasm, resilience and excellence in mathematics have truly stood out. As we were not all in the hall for assembly, we have decided to roll over the team point totals to next week. Congratulations to all of our award winners and achievers this week. Keep dreaming big and demonstrating our DREAM values every day! #DREAM
05 Jun 2026OPAL Play – Day 3 Today it was Year 5's turn to experience our OPAL play provision. Although the weather forecast wasn't looking particularly promising for lunchtime, we were determined that they wouldn't miss out! Instead, we took the children outside during the morning, giving them the opportunity to explore and enjoy the equipment. Over the course of the week, we have continued to develop our den-building resources, and it has been fantastic to see the difference this is making. Children are now able to create even more successful and imaginative dens around the trees, working collaboratively and creatively together. We also loved seeing children combining different types of play. One great example was dinosaurs being brought into the sandpit, creating exciting new worlds and adventures through imaginative play. Once again, the children were fantastic when it came to tidying up at the end of the session. Their responsibility and teamwork ensure that all of the equipment is ready for the next group of children to enjoy. Another wonderful day of OPAL play, with creativity, collaboration and imagination on display throughout. So many children have echoed this message on the playground this week, describing their OPAL lunchtime as their best lunchtime ever!
