Hellesdon Sixth Form

Royal Shakespeare Company Performance

Recently Hellesdon Sixth Form had the outstanding opportunity to collaborate with the Royal Shakespeare Company on their national tour of Romeo and Juliet.

During this experience, not only were our sixth form students able to perform with the cast, to 250 year 10 students, but they were also able to perform to the school's wider community in a free evening event hosted at Hellesdon High School. The following evening, our students also performed at The Playhouse Theatre in Norwich to a public audience.

A group of students from year 7 to 11, helped to organise and market the event in their roles as the school's Shakespeare Ambassadors. This was an excellent opportunity for our students to work in professional industry settings and have work experience in a sector that is notoriously difficult to access.

We were thrilled so many of our students had the opportunity to see a performance by the Royal Shakespeare Company for free at a time when theatre tickets get more and more expensive.
