Wrexham FC Experience for Brodie

One of our Year 12 students were lucky enough to be able to visit Wrexham FC as a guest of Phil Parkinson, the manager and one of the stars of the TV series.

Y12 student Brodie is currently studying Film for one of his A Levels. He has a passion for film and TV and is hoping for a career in film or TV production in the future.

Two of his favourite stars bought Wrexham Football Club and the series "Welcome to Wrexham" has become a big favourite of his and although not really interested in sport, Brodie has really bought into the story and the effect the success of the football club has had on the town and its people.

Brodie had 15 minutes with Phil in his office before the game, talking football and the TV series, getting all sorts of advice. Phil then took him into the changing rooms and out onto the pitch. We then left Phil to the game and went out to mix with some of the fans, hearing really positive stories about how the TV series has really boosted Wrexham's economy and the mood of the town. For example, 3 new restaurants have opened recently and productivity in the town's biggest employer increases by over 20% after the team wins!

It was after the game it got even more special when Phil went out of his way to get two of the documentary makers to come to the office and Brodie had 20 minutes with them talking TV production with Phil also staying, giving lots of personal advice.

The documentary series recently won 5 Emmys and getting time with the production team and Phil was beyond special, Brodie will never forget this special day.
