What a load of rubbish!
Broadland Council Supports Eco-Friendly Action at Arden Grove
This week, we were thrilled to welcome visitors from Broadland District Council, who delivered an exciting and informative session all about reducing, reusing, and recycling. The children were amazed by some of the surprising recycling facts they shared—did you know that recycling just one aluminium can saves enough energy to power a TV for three hours or that 25 plastic bottles can make a fleece.
The visit tied in perfectly with our current class story, Tidy by Emily Gravett, which explores the importance of caring for our environment. Inspired by the tale (and Pete the badger's tidy habits!), the children rolled up their sleeves for a litter pick around the school grounds. They carefully sorted what they collected, learning how to decide what could be recycled and what couldn’t.
It was a fun, hands-on way to learn about our role in protecting the planet—and a great reminder that even small actions can make a big difference. Thank you to Broadland Council for helping us become eco-champions!
