Year 1 Fundraising for the Rainforest

Our children have loved learning about the Rainforest and became very passionate about the threats that face it.

In Spring the Year 1's topic 'Would you rather be a farmer in the UK or in the rainforest' really caught the children's imaginations. They enjoyed finding out about our local area and what we grow in Norfolk before learning about the amazing Amazon Rainforest.

They found out that some parts of the rainforest are being cut down to make space for more fields. This caused lots of children to be curious about what this meant for the animals in the rainforest.

They grew their empathetic parts and after a talk from one of our parents who used to work with the animals in the Amazon they decided to fund raise to make a difference.

The children created beautiful pieces of Rainforest artwork inspired by Rosseau and invited their families in to sell them to raise money. The children raised over £70 for the rainforest charity.
