Wells-next-the-Sea Primary and Nursery School is anchored in the community, setting sail for success as it provides our children with a wide range of local experiences to broaden their understanding of the wider world. We are a small school with passion and drive, to provide the best for our children, families and communities both locally and further afield.
Our Vision
Making Mini Beast Homes This week in woodlands Year 2 made mini-beast rooms. We started by colouring card in brightly coloured pictures to attract the bugs. Then we gathered natural materials outside, like sticks, bark, pine cones and dried leaves. We then placed the materials on the card and rolled them up and tired string around to keep it together. Finally we placed the mini-beast rooms in a safe, shady spot in the woodland area. Next week we are going back to see if any bugs have made a new home! #makingahouseahome #anchoredinthecommunityaplacetobelongaworldtoexplore

30 Jun 2025Mini Beast Hunting with Year 2 Year 2 enjoyed exploring the wild grass and woodland area to find mini beasts in their microhabitats. We created a tally chart of the different mini beasts we found. In science we will use this data to create a pictogram to compare results and ask questions about the different microhabitats. #minibeast #anchoredinthecommunityaplacetobelongaworldtoexplore
