Wells-next-the-Sea Primary and Nursery School is anchored in the community, setting sail for success as it provides our children with a wide range of local experiences to broaden their understanding of the wider world. We are a small school with passion and drive, to provide the best for our children, families and communities both locally and further afield.
Year 4 Art Year 4 have created mixed-media artwork to celebrate the RNLI. They did a watercolour wash and then focused on the fine details of the lifeboat in felt-tip pens. The finished product is extremely effective. What fabulous artwork! #RNLI #AnchoredInTheCommunity27 Feb 2024
Acorns News In our KS2 session last week, we set the children a challenge to work as a team to create a Marble run using only toilet roll holders, boxes, yogurt pots and tape. This problem solving activity helped to promote teamwork and communication, some of the children were heard saying "Teamwork makes the dream work" "Motivational inspirational" "Can you help me? hold this here for me please" "I've got a ramp" "that's a good idea!" Amazing communication Acorns! #communicationskills #anchoredinthecommunitysettingsailforsuccess26 Feb 2024
Year Reception Maths Mastery Workshop It was back to school for our Year Reception parents as they joined Mrs Norman, Mrs Hems and Mrs Walters for the Year Reception Maths Mastery workshop! It was a great opportunity for our families to learn how Maths is taught in Year Reception, and how to help support learning at home. #mathsisfun #anchoredinthecommunitysettingsailforsuccess16 Feb 2024
Rudolph Run Presentation We were delighted to welcome Victoria from The Norfolk Hospice into school today to present the proceeds of our Rudolph Run event. We raised a brilliant £519 which will help local families access the wonderful care and services that The Norfolk Hospice provides. With Mrs Beck and Victoria are Edie and Ida, two of our top fundraisers. Thank you to everyone who participated in this event. #norfolkhospice #tappinghouse #anchoredinthecommunitysettingsailforsuccess16 Feb 2024
Nurture News We recently ran a competition in school, asking children to think of a new name for our Nurture group rebrand. We felt inspired by a year 3 entry, Acorns. We loved how this represents the group and what we hope to achieve. #acorns #anchoredinthecommunitysettingsailforsuccess15 Feb 2024
