Wells-next-the-Sea Primary and Nursery School is anchored in the community, setting sail for success as it provides our children with a wide range of local experiences to broaden their understanding of the wider world. We are a small school with passion and drive, to provide the best for our children, families and communities both locally and further afield.
Our Vision
Year Reception Cloud Spotting In Reception , we have been looking at weather and during our woodlands session we made cloud spotters and had a go at cloud spotting! The children loved seeing what clouds they could see in the sky and used some great descriptive language to describe what they could see. #cloudspotting #anchoredinthecommunityaplacetobelongaworldtoexplore
12 May 2025Year 2 Map Work Year 2 are learning about maps and our local area! The children enjoyed looking at different maps to spot places we recognised and spotting the different places that we live! #ourtown #anchoredinthecommunityaplacetobelongaworldtoexplore
09 May 2025Year 4 English Year 4 created freeze frames to capture the actions and emotions of the characters within our English text 'The Journey' by Francesca Sanna. They then described to the class how they were feeling and what they were doing at this point of the story. Using this experience, they made a start on writing a character description of the Mother in the story. #thejourney #anchoredinthecommunityaplacetobelongaworldtoexplore
07 May 2025Nursery Learning We have had a busy start to the week, by building on our learning from last week about syllables! Syllables are sometimes called beats in a word and they help children to begin to understand how they can segment words into parts. These early phonics skills are important first steps into the world of becoming a reader and writer! #syllables #anchoredinthecommunityaplacetobelongaworldtoexplore
