Our Coronation Celebrations

What an amazing day we had celebrating the King's Coronation last Friday. The children came to school dressed in red, white and blue and created marvellous crowns fit for the King and Queen, using jewels and glitter they looked like the real thing! School council visited every classroom judging the children's crowns, awarding 2 winners for every class with a rosette. School council then went to the bottom of the field to plant our tree in commemoration of the event. It was a lot of digging, but we now have a new addition to our wooded area. School council will continue to look after the tree and give updates on how it is growing. Unfortunately due to the weather we were unable to play games on the lawn so it was into the hall for an assembly. We announced the winners of the crown competition and awarded them a rosette. We sang 'God save the King' before going back to our classroom for a video on the coronation and some yummy cake!
