World Book Day celebrations

At the beginning of March, we celebrated World Book Day. On Friday 3 March, we had a very comfortable non-uniform day when children were invited to come into school wearing onesies, pyjamas or anything that made them feel relaxed for reading.

The children also took part in ‘Drop Everything and Read’. At different times during the day, the school bell would ring and the children would pause everything they were doing (even if they were in the middle of a lesson) and stop to read a book.

The children in different year groups also took part in different activities to celebrate reading such as designing book tokens, designing book covers, sharing favourite books and even writing extra chapters of existing books.

NORSE and our wonderful kitchen team also helped us to celebrate reading by having a special book themed lunch.

All in all, it was a great day to celebrate reading!
