Science Week

Science Week was a huge success, filling our classrooms with excitement, questions, and hands on discovery. With this year’s theme centred on curiosity, every class took part in a  science experiment each morning.

One class investigated which material would make the best handkerchief, testing fabrics to see which absorbed the most 'snot'. The children made predictions, carried out careful tests, and compared results like real scientists.

Another class explored the age‑old mystery of why toast so often lands butter side down. Through fun experiments, the children looked at height, balance, and movement, discovering how forces can affect the way things fall.

Meanwhile, a third class became nature engineers, exploring which materials make the best bird nests. Using only a “beak” tool to pick up and build with twigs, straw, and other natural materials, pupils quickly realised just how clever birds must be to create strong, safe homes.

Throughout the week, the children showed fantastic enthusiasm, teamwork, and curiosity. They asked thoughtful questions, shared ideas, and celebrated every discovery.
