The eggs arrived on Tuesday and, to the children’s delight, all five had hatched by Thursday. The new arrivals were quickly given names: Ronaldo, Mia, Freya, Rainbow and Heather.

Over the week, the children learned all about the life cycle of a duck and what ducklings need to stay healthy and safe. They were captivated watching the ducklings swim, waddle and explore, and they especially loved having the chance to gently hold them. 

To celebrate the experience, the class enjoyed sharing duckling-themed stories, singing ‘5 little ducks’,  and creating duck inspired artwork.
