FOHA

Welcome to the Friends Of Heather Avenue page.

Everybody who is part of our school community is a member of FOHA and is welcome to come along to our half-termly meetings which are advertised in our weekly newsletter.  FOHA is a group of parents, carers, friends and teachers that meet regularly to arrange fund raising events and activities for the children of the school. Events include discos, jumble sales, raffles and seasonal fairs.

Events

Throughout the year FOHA organise many different events.  The money raised from these events go towards many things which benefit all the children in school.  Money may go towards larger projects such as the kitchen classroom, the outdoor nurture classroom, the hall climbing frame and the trim trail or the purchase of a new piano, kiln or picnic bench.

FOHA subsidise many school trips throughout the whole school which reduces the cost for families. They also buy the leavers books for the Year 2 children at the end of each school year. The children have a wonderful Leavers Tea before a school disco.

There are termly discos during the year where the children enjoy dancing.

The biggest event in the year is either a Christmas or Summer Fair.  At the Christmas Fayre the children sell items which they have made during their 'My Money Challenge Week'.  At the Summer Fair there are many stalls and games.  Refreshments are available including homemade cakes.

These fundraising events enable us to have many things in school which we wouldn't have without FOHA support.
