Jade Class Blog - Week Commencing 22.6.26

This week ....

In phonics we have been revising the alternatives for the long digraph oo e.g. ue, u-e and ew.  Some children have also been learning about ea as ee  e.g.  pea, sea.  We continued to revise both the blue and yellow tricky words.

We continued with set sentence and have focused this week on writing sentences including the tricky words - we, are , the and I.

In Maths, we revised our number bonds to 5 using our fingers and placing counters on a die frame.

In project we read the book - Where Food Comes From.  The children then had a go a matching different pictures of food to their sources.

The children have enjoyed watching our strawberries grow and we managed to try a small piece each.

This week we also read the book - The Internet Is Like A Puddle ,and talked about being safe when using the internet.

Don’t forget that it is our Rugby trip on Thursday.  Please make sure that the children come to school in their PE kits that day. They will need to bring a water bottle, packed lunch in a lunch bag ( if they are not having a pre ordered school packed lunch) .  Please can you apply suncream before school and we will be taking our school hats.

It is our Summer Fair on Friday 3rd July - starting at 4.30pm.  Please come along, there are lots of fun activities and a yummy BBQ!  The children had raffle tickets in their book bags last week if you would like to purchase some.  If you would like to buy more, then you can get them from the office.
