Sage and Teal classes learned about the amazing life of Helen Keller. They found out that she was deaf and blind and still learned to read and write and go to college. The children tried to use their other senses to experience a little of Helen's life. They used their sense of smell to try and identify what was in different pots and used their sense of touch to see if they could describe and identify objects in a bag. #garrickgreeninfantschool #learntobehappybehappytolearn

Every class had a visit from Sarah who works at a dental practice. She talked to the children about oral hygiene. Here is some of the information the children found out: The children in reception and year 1 will have roughly 20 teeth and 24 in year 2 When all the baby teeth fall out and grow back, they will then grow 4 more teeth and end up having 28 and some adults have 32 teeth! Brush teeth twice a day - once in the morning, once at night Use a pea-sized amount of toothpaste Brush in a circular motion (if you have a normal toothbrush) An electric toothbrush does the circles for you! Brush your tongue Don't rinse your mouth out or use mouth wash after brushing Do spit out the toothpaste and WAIT 20 minutes before drinking Drink fizzy/sugary drinks with a straw - this way the drink doesn't touch the teeth How much information did your child remember?
