Well done to the children for completing their first full week of school!

This week the children have been very busy continuing to explore the classroom as well as the outside area and they have been learning the names of their class mates.

The adults have been assessing the children through practical activities and talking to children to see what they can and can't do. This helps us to tailor our teaching and activities throughout the next term and gives us a starting point for each child. 

The children have enjoyed having snack time every day and listening to a range of stories including stories by Julia Donaldson and Sue Hendra.  

We have noticed as the week has gone on that some of the children are quite tired already - this is quite normal so please don't worry. It is due to them being so busy during the day and all the processing of new things that they are doing. Plus there is so much to remember when you are starting school!

Book bags have been given out this week and each child should have chosen a sharing book. These are to share with their grown ups at home and can be changed in school whenever they want. Please can you make sure book bags are brought into school everyday and are checked regularly for reading books and school correspondence!  We do ask though that the children do not carry water bottles in their book bags as they sometimes leak onto our books.
