Garrick Green

Infant School

Reception Blog Week beginning 05.10.20

This week we have been continuing to assess the children and while we have been doing this the other children have had free play - they have spent a lot of time outside which has been great and the relationships between the children have been developing nicely. There are lots of new friendships being made.

There was a film crew making a promotional video for Garrick Green here and the children performed brilliantly for the camera and enjoyed talking about what they do at school.

We have been doing a bit of mental maths by counting, finding repeating patterns and singing number songs.

We have started reading traditional tales to the children and we had Little Red Riding Hood this week. The children were good at talking about wolves and could think of other stories with wolves in. There was some lovely discussions about the story and predicting what might happen next.

The Year 1s have also been writing tricky words, reading and doing PE activities outside.

Have a good weekend!
