Reception Blog week beginning 30.11.12

This week we started reading Christmas/winter themed stories. It has turned much colder and a lot of the children are talking about how they are decorating their homes. We have also talked about other special celebrations that the children celebrate with their families.

In maths we have been looking at number 5 again and looking at all the different calculations to go with it e.g. 3 + 2 = 5, 5 - 2 + 3 and the different ways we can make 5 using objects.

We have been continuing to practise our Christmas songs ready for next week when you are invited to come and watch on the Reception playground. More informations was on the newsletter.

The year 1s have been completing reading, writing and maths assessments and it has been lovely to see how much they have learnt this term.

We have replied to the residents at Redmayne house with a letter and the children have created some winter collage pictures to send to them.

We have also been talking about how we keep safe in school and especially at the moment to minimise the risk of COVID.

We also went out in the snow today which was very exciting - the snowflakes were really big!

On Monday we had our first zoom assembly with Mrs Dewing the children enjoyed this and it will be happening every week.

Have a good weekend!
