Miss Banner and Mrs Herron's Blog - week beginning 12.7.21

This is what we are doing this week:

Sorry there isn't a lot to write this week as we will mostly be outside doing different sporting activities as it is Sports Week!

Please make sure the children are dressed in P.E. clothes all week so they are free to move easily and their feet are comfortable to run and do all the different physical activities!

There are some Sports coaches in school this week so the children will have the opportunity to have a go at a few different things such as yoga, rugby athletics and lots more

We will also be doing running races, bean bag races, egg and spoon, hurdling and water races in our classes. The emphasis will be on having a go, and it will be lots of fun!

We will be continuing with phonics and this week we will looking at the long i vowel digraph, and it's alternatives. We will also hear the children read. Our writing this week will be doing a class letter to the resident at Redmayne House who has been our pen pal this year.

In Maths we will be looking at 19 and how it can be made using the numicon, beadstring, 10 frame and also different arrays. We will continue to practise counting, ordering teen numbers and looking at ordinal numbers (1st, 2nd, 3rd etc.)

Have a good week!
