Multiplication and Division, Story writing and Art.

English

To start the week we thought about how stories start and shared ideas about the different stories we know and like to listen to or read, Mrs Morgan used the props from last week to tell us a story using ideas from stories we knew and we had great fun guessing which ones it was based on! Then we have continued our story writing this week and used everything we learned about last week to create our own adventure stories. We have also made puppets and retold our stories to our friends.

If you get an opportunity to make up and retell stories at home it is great for imagination and really good fun!

Maths

In maths this week we have continued to learn about multiplication and division. We have been grouping objects. For example, putting 10 counters into groups of 2 or 15 counters into groups of 3. We have also been sharing objects out. This is the start of division and everything is completely practical at the moment. A really good way to do this is to use an empty egg box like the picture below.
