End of term and Merry Christmas!

English / RE

This week we have been listening to the Nativity story and discussing the religion Christianity. We have been retelling the story of Mary and Joseph and how baby Jesus was born.

Maths

In maths this week we have been learning about fractions of shapes. We know that a fraction is an equal part of something whole. We have been thinking about halves (two equal parts) and quarters (four equal parts). As part of your home learning you could have a go at making some toast, pizza or sandwiches and cut them into two equal parts or four equal parts. Make sure that all parts of equal! Here is a great interactive resources to explore at home https://phet.colorado.edu/sims/html/fractions-intro/latest/fractions-intro_en.html

Look Up!

This week we joined into a live Zoom link to listen to the author Nathan Bryon read his book Look Up! We then followed the illustrator Dapo Adeola to draw the main character Rocket.
