Jade Class Blog - week commencing 6.7.26

This week ..
In Phonics we have been revising all of the digraphs and trigraphs learnt so far. The children would benefit from continuing to practise au, or,, al, aw and soft c e.g. nice and soft g e.g. page.
In Talk Through Stories, we read the book - How To Be A Viking.

The children pretended to be Hiccup the viking and we took it in turns to ask them questions about what happened in the story.
In Maths we used the Rekenreks, die frame, ten frame and our fingers to help us to split numbers into 5 and a bit e.g. 7 is made of 5 and the bit is 2.

In Project, we read the story - Floss and watched a short video showing a sheepdog working the sheep. We then had a go at programming a remote control tractor and gave it directions to find the toy sheep on the carpet. The children really enjoyed this activity.
This week we have had great fun! We enjoyed learning how to play Kwik Cricket and Tri- Golf. The children were very excited when they got to use a Climbing Wall. They thoroughly enjoyed playing Glow In The Dark Dodge Ball. On Thursday, the children all went into the hall and had the opportunity to practise their circus skills.
We are looking forward to seeing you on Friday 10th July for Sport’s Day and the Family Picnic. Please remember to bring a picnic blanket or seat. The children need to wear their PE kit ( a white t-shirt) and a bottle of water.
On Monday 13th July, the children will need to be dropped off outside their new classroom and picked up from there. At 2.45, you will be able to come into the new classroom and meet your child’s new teacher, Charlotte.
