This week...
We have been lucky with the weather on our return to school after the Easter holiday. Please can you try to apply sunscreen to your children before school so that they are protected when they are outside. We would recommend using the once sunscreen that doesn't need re-applying as then they don't have to worry about it during the day as this can be tricky for them! It is also a cheaper option rather than re-applying sunscreen frequently throughout the day. We provide sun hats for the children to wear.
In Phonics Reception are doing the ph alternative for f - phonic. Year 1 are looking at the long e alternatives ea, e_e and ee - neat, eve and feet. We are continuing trying to learn the tricky words - it is really important that they children know these by next year as it will really help. The new ones this week are they, so, no and go.
In Talk Through Stories the vocabulary for this week is - arrived, distracted, charged, annoyed, sobbed, received, rushed and lonely.
We will write a dictated sentence every day and continue with story scribing.
In Maths we are looking at how 6 is made up and all the different number bonds that make 6.
In project we are learning about animals and plant sources and where food comes from. The children will learn to make the link between the product and source e.g. cow and milk.
In RSHE we will recap flipping the lip and what to do when we experience big emotions. We will recap the use of the calm corner and strategies to use that could help us.
In RE we are looking at special places and homes around the world. The children will compare and notice similarities and differences.
We will also be continuing to play both inside and outside.
Have a good week!
