The main focus is painting self-portraits which will then go on display in the classrooms. We will look closely at the features we can see on our faces using mirrors and then do an observational drawing in chalk of our faces and then we will paint our self-portraits. We talked about famous artists doing self-portraits.

Olive class are reading Julia Donaldson books this week while Jade class are reading Kipper books.

The Year ones will be writing a sentence every day and their morning work is writing cvc sounds. Reception children are doing daily writing of shapes to help develop their motor skills. We are also doing daily dough disco and squiggle to help with motor skill development too.

In mathd we are learning all about the number 2 - we will be looking at how it is made by combining 1 and 1. We will talk about the idea is one add another one or one more than one is two. We will sort things into groups based on whether they are 1 or 2 e.g pieces of lego, dominoes, numicon, 1 and 2ps etc. We will also learn how to write the number 2. The rhyme for two is two two touch your shoe.

In RSHE the children will learn about feelings, they will look at facial expressions and how we show our feelings and we will talk about all the different words that can describe our feelings. We will also be revising our School Vision - 'Leanr to be happy, be happy to learn' where the children will discuss what makes them happy. 

In RE we will be talking about special people.

We will be finishing off the baseline assessments.
