Teachers: Miss Dowler and Mrs Cameron
Year 4 were very busy in the run up to Christmas....
We have thoroughly enjoyed ready Mary Poppins by P.L. Travers together in class. Even though it was written a long time ago, it is still a really great story.
Our main topic was looking at teeth and healthy eating in Science. We had great fun testing our teeth for plaque with disclosure tablets.
Just before we broke up for the Christmas holidays, we joined with Year 2 to make Christingles, and with our parents to make Christmas decorations.
As I am sure you know, reading is an essential part of your child’s education. This year, the student council are continuing to run a reading challenge with the chance to win a small trophy for the class each week. The minimum time spent reading at home is three times a week. If your child reads every night of the week, they become a Year 3 reading champion!
Outdoor learning will continue as usual on a Friday afternoon. It is important your child brings an appropriate change of clothes – long sleeves and trousers as well as suitable footwear.
Our class PE days this half term are Wednesday and Thursday.
Please ensure your child has the full and correct PE kit on these days.
Class Dojo will continue to be used this year. It is a great space where you can view photos, videos and information about what is happening in Year 3 and across the school. If you require another invitation to join, please don’t hesitate to ask.
A homework menu will be given out at the beginning of each half term. Your child will need to complete a minimum of 5 activities each half term, handing one piece in each week on a Thursday. There is a homework club available if help or resources are needed. In addition to this, children will also bring home spellings to learn.
