Year 7 Manor Lakes Residential

Year 7 carried out their residential weekend at Manor Lakes Outdoor Adventure Centre
Our new Year 7 cohort were straight into their APHS experience with an action-packed weekend at Manor Lakes Outdoor Adventure Centre in Lyng, Students left school at lunchtime on Friday and did not return until Sunday afternoon, making it the first time some students had been away from home for more than one night.
All students had the opportunity to take part in activities including: Kayaking and canoeing; high ropes course; assault course; blind obstacle course; rifle shooting; climbing; aeroball and a campfire - inlcuding toasting marshmallows!
The conduct of students was brilliant and they really started to demonstrate the BASICS and School Values of Ambition, Pride, Happiness and Success that we are looking to develop over the next 5 years together.
Over the course of the weekend, all students were responsible for keeping their rooms tidy, cleaning up after each meal and getting themselves organised for each activity. It was also very heart-warming to see students ignore their phones for the whole weekend and enjoy each others' company. Thesea er going to be a great year group to work with.
Thank you to Mrs Hardman for organising it and for all of the staff who gave their time over the weekend to make it happen: Mrs Jagger, Mrs Somerton, Mrs Hudson-Brown, Miss Steward, Mr Warden, Miss Beech, Miss Cowell, Mrs Holmes, Mrs Smith, Mr Whitaker, Ms Carter DeBois, Mrs Gibson, Mrs Barker and Mr Hardman.
