Percentage of Pupils achieving a Grade 5 or above in GCSE English and Maths in 2025

In 2025, 48.2% of pupils achieved grade 5 or above in both English and maths GCSEs, which was above the national average.

Attainment 8 Score in 2025

In 2025, pupils achieved an Attainment 8 score of 45.4, which has risen sharply over the past three years from 39.8, to 42 and now 45.4

Percentage of Pupils Staying in Education of Employment after KS4 (2023 Leavers)

In 2023, 91% of pupils stayed in education or employment, which is in line with the National Average.

Percentage of Students entered for the English Baccalaureate (EBacc) in 2025

A pupil is considered to have entered for the English Baccalaureate if they entered for qualifications in English, maths, sciences, a language and either history or geography. In 2025, 8.2% of students were entered for the EBacc.

EBacc Average Points Score (APS) in 2025

The EBacc average points score calculates a pupil's average point scores across the 5 pillars of the English Baccalaureate. In 2025, this as 3.71 points. 

Percentage achieving grade 5 or above in English and maths (over 3 years)

The percentage of students achieving Grade 5 or above in both English and Maths has risen rapidly from 32.1% in 2023, to 42.9% in 2024 and now 28.2% in 2025.

This tells you the percentage of pupils who achieved grade 5 or above in English and maths GCSEs. Reformed GCSEs are graded 1 (low) to 9 (high). Grade 5 is a similar level of achievement to a high grade C or low grade B in the old grading.

Percentage achieving grade 4 or above in English and maths (over 3 years)

The percentage of students achieving Grade 4 or above in both English and Maths has risen rapidly from 59.4% in 2023, to 60.5% in 2024 and now 70.9% in 2025.

This tells you the percentage of pupils who achieved grade 4 or above in English and maths GCSEs. Reformed GCSEs are graded 1 (low) to 9 (high). Grade 4 or above is a similar level of achievement to a grade C or above in the old grading.
