Wensum Trust Maths Day at the NEST
On Tuesday this week, Year 11 students took part in a successful Maths enrichment day hosted at The NEST by the Wensum Trust.
The event brought together students from Hellesdon, Acle and Alderman & Peel, all of whom are working towards achieving a Grade 5 in Maths.
Led by Mr Cameron and staff from the trust, the day focused on three key GCSE exam topics: linear graphs, circles and probability. Through targeted lessons and collaborative activities, students were able to strengthen their understanding and build confidence in these important areas.
The unique setting of The NEST provided a calm and welcoming environment, allowing students to fully engage with their learning while also benefiting from the opportunity to meet and work alongside peers from other schools.
While the primary focus of the day was academic progress, students also had time to enjoy the facilities available at The NEST, including pool, darts and PlayStation, offering a well-balanced and rewarding experience.
Students responded positively to the day, with Olivia E commenting, “It was nice to have a day out of school but still learning something,” and Oscar W adding, “It was good, I learnt a lot.”
The day was a valuable opportunity for students to deepen their knowledge, gain new perspectives and feel more prepared for their upcoming Maths exams. A sincere thank you goes to Mr Cameron and the Wensum Trust team for organising such a meaningful and engaging event.
