A Guide for Parents/Carers

What is Pupil Premium?

  • The Pupil Premium is money from the government to be spent on supporting:
  • Children from low-income families who are currently eligible for free school meals (FSM)
  • Children who have been looked after continuously for more than six months by the local authority
  • Children who have been eligible for Free School Meals at any point during the last six years
  • Children of service personnel.
     

How it was used in 2020 -21

  • Additional support staff employed to deliver interventions to support speech and language development.
  • Additional Speech and Language Therapist sessions.
  • High quality books purchased to improve literacy.
  • Jolly Phonics training to improve the teaching of phonics.
  • Mental health and Mindfulness training to improve wellbeing.
  • Family support worker employed to offer support where needed.
  • School uniform subsidised.
