Year 9 HHS vs Reepham Friendly

Year 9 HHS v Reepham - Friendly Match on Wednesday 13th September 2023

The Y9 boys team kicked off HHS’ football season in style with an entertaining 6-4 win away to
Reepham in a friendly.

Early pressure from Hellesdon soon paid off as Freddie P carried on from where he left off last season to open the scoring. Unfortunately, this was Freddie’s last contribution as he was forced off through injury but Will M’s fine finish doubled Hellesdon’s lead. Reepham then halved the deficit with an emphatic penalty before Hellesdon restored their two-goal lead through Noah S’ calm left-foot finish to put Hellesdon 3-1 ahead at half-time.

Reepham fought back well in the second half and quickly drew level at 3-3. This seemed to spur
Hellesdon on to raise their intensity levels again, which was typified by Noah S’ tenacity up front to charge down a clearance and score with his head. Cam B also got his name on the scoresheet before Reepham pulled it back to 5-4 with two minutes left to set up a nervy finish. However, with the last kick of the game, Noah S completed his ‘perfect hat-trick’ with a right-foot finish past the keeper. A very encouraging start for the boys as they head towards County and National Cup games in the next few weeks.
