World Book Day 2024
It's all happening in the Hellesdon High library as we celebrate World Book Day 2024
We have been making our annual book hedgehogs out of old, well-read books that are given a new life - as well as some fetching googly eyes and pom pom noses!
At breaktime today our year 7 Reading Champions ran a "book swap" where students could bring a book they've read at home and swap it for a book someone else has brought in. We also have a "Design a Book Cover or new Book Character" competition for all the artists in school.
There are new displays too - one celebrating "staff fave reads" and recommending 16 books to read before you're 16 as well as the Masked Reader competition with students guessing the staff member behind the book!
We also launched an exciting challenge - "Book Bingo" which will run till 3rd June and is to encourage lots of lovely reading and push boundaries of what students might normally read.
Lots of book vouchers, free books, sweet treats and merits on Classcharts up for grabs to successful winners of competitions!
