Celebrating Our Technicians on #TECHOGNITION 2026

On Friday 13 March we were proud to take part in #TECHOGNITION 2026, a national event celebrating the work of school and college technicians across the UK.
The day was created to recognise the essential role technicians play in education – a role that is often unseen but absolutely vital. Across schools and colleges, technicians prepare experiments, maintain equipment, support practical learning and ensure that teaching environments are safe, organised and ready for students.
The photos shared today show some of our technicians doing what they do every day: setting up practical activities, maintaining equipment, supporting colleagues and helping students experience hands-on learning.
Technicians bring an extraordinary range of skills to their roles. From problem-solving and technical expertise to creativity and organisation, they are the people who make practical education possible. Events like #TECHOGNITION aim to highlight these contributions and help more people understand just how varied and important this work is.
This national celebration encourages schools and colleges to share photos and stories of technicians in action, helping to showcase the huge variety of tasks they carry out and the impact they have on education every day.
At our organisation, we know that the success of many activities depends on the dedication of our technical staff. Their expertise, professionalism and willingness to go the extra mile make an enormous difference to both staff and students.
Today we simply want to say thank you.
To all of our technicians – and to technicians everywhere – thank you for the work you do behind the scenes and on the front line of practical learning.
