In KS4 we offer a Level 2 Hair & Beauty Qualification that is the equivalent to a GCSE
Hair and Beauty - Education and experience
The aim is to complete a subject that you have a genuine passion for and to gain a qualification in a subject you love, or, you may have an interest and want to find out more about the subject. We have a fully functioning hair salon with nail bars and all the equipment you would expect to find in a working hairdressing salon.
You can study the Hair and Beauty GCSE and then progress on to the Level 2&3 at College, which will mean you can gain employment as a junior hairdresser or go on to further study.
Examination Courses
Key Stage 4
At KS4 you will be studying a Level 2 Certificate in Hair and Beauty which is the equivalent to a GCSE. This qualification is through VTCT, the largest Hair and Beauty provider. The qualification is carried out over two years and is made up two units. One is a classroom-based assignment and the second is the exam unit, both completed in Year 11.
The assignment and exam are based around the hair and beauty industry and involves a lot of business theory.
