Leaving a lasting legacy - Good luck for the future Mike Earl

The Wensum Trust says goodbye and good luck to one of our great leaders - Mike Earl.

Mike joined Hellesdon High on the 25th of September, 1998. He started as a part-time NQT of Science—a new teacher finding his feet in the lab.

From those early days, Mike moved into leading A-Level Chemistry in 2000, eventually becoming Head of Science in 2005. By 2009, his focus shifted toward the broader vision of the school, moving into leadership roles that eventually led to his appointment as Joint Head of School with Tom Rolfe in 2015.

What makes Mike’s contribution so unique is that he has seen Hellesdon from every possible angle. He hasn't just managed the school; he has grown up with it. Whether in the classroom, the lab, or the Principal’s office, his work with the Wensum Trust has always been defined by a quiet, steady commitment to the students and the staff.

Mike, you’ve been a constant thread in the story of this school for nearly three decades. As you move on to your new ventures, you leave behind a legacy of hard work, authenticity, and a school that is better for your time here.

Thank you for everything, and we wish you the very best of luck with whatever comes next
