Bright gift to one of our schools

Be safe and be seen is the message behind a donation to Firside Junior School from a Norwich engineering company.

More than 100 hi-vis jackets have been given to an entire year group at the school by KLM UK Engineering, which has a longstanding partnership with the Trust.

“One of our company values is safety, and maintaining high safety standards at our facility is of the utmost importance to us. When Firside Junior School shared their need to replace crucial PPE (personal protection equipment), we jumped at the opportunity to improve safety within our community too.

“Our charity committee worked with Firside to ensure we met their exact requirements, liaised with our trusted suppliers and arranged the production, printing and delivery of a full inventory of hi-vis jackets. This was supported by our friends at Rubix, who support us in achieving our high safety standards and generously donated a portion of the jackets,” said Adam Turner, Procurement Controller, as he is in the photo

The entire year group along with a couple of staff members now have the bright yellow vests to make sure they are safe and seen. All the jackets have been branded with the Wensum Trust logo.

“We are really grateful for the new PPE which has been organised and donated by KLM UK, it will help ensure our pupils are safer as the nights draw in and we have darker mornings,” said Assistant Head of School Lucy Seagrave.

Our Trust has a well established partnership with KLM UK Engineering which currently has former pupils of its secondary schools on apprenticeship programmes.
