Hellesdon High School

HHS Wellbeing Event 2024

On Thursday last week, we held our biggest annual Wellbeing Event to date, with stalls and activities taking place across the Hall, Conservatory and Quad.

The Event showcased the internal support we offer to students- including Pastoral Workers, Extracurricular Activities, Chess and Games Club, Young Carer support; as well as external organisations with which we work- including, Pets as Therapy, the Harbour Centre, the Matthew Project, Youth Advisory Board and Kooth. We had representatives from Mental Health, Police, Children's Services, Dentistry, and many Charities on hand to talk to, and offer their advice and expertise. The Headucate team from the UEA was on hand to talk to students about mental health and debunk myths; the YMCA was dishing out delicious smoothies at the Smoothie Bar and X-Adventures allowed keen participants to throw axes and try some herbal tea at the fire pit!

Many parents, students and staff joined us, creating a busy and lively atmosphere. Luckily, our wonderful sixth form peer mentors, along with main school helpers meant the event ran incredibly smoothly and one we will be sure to bring back in 2025!
