Lodge Lane celebrates 'Good' Ofsted report.

Lodge Lane Infant School continues to be a Good school.

Ofsted confirmed the school has maintained the standards identified in its previous inspection after a visit by the education regulator on 7 and 8 May 2025.

The report praised the school for being happy and friendly, and ensuring pupils have a strong sense of belonging.

Other strengths highlighted were:

  • The school has high expectations of pupil’s achievement and behaviour.
  • Pupils try hard to show the school’s values of kindness, teamwork, challenge, respect, curiosity and perseverance.
  • Classrooms are calm learning environments.
  • Pupils are highly engaged by the school’s imaginative inquiry approach to learning.
  • The school has developed a broad, balanced and creative curriculum.
  • The early years curriculum lays the foundations for children’s later learning.
  • Staff are skilled at spotting pupils who need additional support to keep up with learning.
  • Staff identify pupils’ needs and adapt their teaching to meet these.
  • Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) are well understood.
  • The school’s arrangements for safeguarding are effective.

Beccy Dewing, Headteacher at Lodge Lane Infant School, said: “I am delighted that Lodge Lane continues to be recognised as a Good school by Ofsted. Our whole school community works very hard to create a strong sense of belonging and a happy learning environment.

“I would like to thank all the staff, parents, carers, children, and governors, who work together to ensure we have a school we can be proud of.”

Daniel Thrower, CEO of Wensum Trust which Lodge Lane Infant School is part of, said: “This Ofsted inspection highlights the wonderful environment at Lodge Lane which clearly motivates the children to engage in their learning. I am particularly pleased that inspectors recognise the Wensum Trust’s ambitions for the school and that we are providing support and training for staff. I would like to congratulate Beccy and her team for an excellent report.”
