Royal Norfolk Show News
The Wensum English Hub will be joining us at the Royal Norfolk Show next week to showcase their work.
Teachers and schools across Norfolk and Suffolk are being invited to find out more about Wensum English Hub at the Royal Norfolk Show on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 June.
Wensum English Hub is one of 34 English Hub’s nationwide and is funded by the Department for Education to support other schools in Norfolk and Suffolk to achieve excellence in teaching early reading and early language development.
Schools enrolled in the programme receive intensive, dedicated, support from a Literacy Specialist to develop a phonics programme, access to training and up to £6,000 in funding for training and resources.
Wensum English Hub will be joining The Wensum Trust at stand 279, Avenue 3, at the Royal Norfolk Show - complete with a mini library.
Laura Anderson, Wensum English Hub lead, said: “We know a lot of teachers and schools attend the Royal Norfolk Show every year and this is an ideal opportunity for them to come and have a chat with us and find out more about how we can support them with their phonics and early language.
“All the schools we have supported so far have made exceptional progress with significant improvements in their literacy data and we are passionate about extending our support further across the county.”
