Secondary Phase Lead – English Hub
As a dedicated Secondary Phase Lead at the Wensum English Hub, you will work under the direction of the Hub Lead to drive the successful roll-out of our secondary reading programmes. Your core focus will be supporting secondary schools to develop robust, evidence-based approaches to the teaching of reading, with a particular emphasis on reading fluency.
Recognising that effective literacy development in secondary settings requires a whole-school approach, you will specialise in working across subject teams and departments to embed a consistent, sustainable reading culture. You will play a key role in programme delivery, supporting Literacy Specialists, and ensuring rigorous quality assurance across all secondary literacy activities.
As part of your direct delivery responsibilities, you will undertake approximately five school audits, provide intensive support to a designated partner school, and deliver Medium Level Support (MLS). In addition, you will contribute your secondary literacy expertise to the Hub’s wider implementation strategy and support the Hub Lead in achieving agreed Department for Education KPIs.
This is a strategic and impactful role, ideal for an experienced secondary practitioner with a strong understanding of disciplinary literacy and a passion for improving reading outcomes across the curriculum.
