Computer Systems

Students will develop their data-modelling skills, using spreadsheet software, to simulate the running of a theme-park.

Students will learn the role of the hardware components required in a computer system: CPU, RAM and motherboard; in addition to this student will learn the roles of common peripheral hardware devices including storage, graphics cards, input and output devices etc

Each topic contains two to three multiple choice style mini-assessments plus a coursework assessment at the end

The students will develop their vector graphics skills in order to create a polished animated logo sequence that could be used at the start of their YouTube channel

Students will build on their HTML programming skills to create a carefully structured and personalised interactive website, that will make use of their animated logo and can be about anything they like

Choose Your Own Adventure

Student will learn how digital computers represent text, images and sound using binary and how this data is transmitted from one device to another

Students develop their literacy creative writing skills as well as their programming skills by creating a Choose You Own Adventure style story using Python
