Main School Admissions
From Years 7 - 11
We recognise that starting secondary school or changing school is a big step and we do all we can to aid the transition process.
Starting High School at Hellesdon High
Our carefully planned induction programme for new students commences in July, and is designed to help students settle into high school life with ease. Year 6 students are invited to spend three days at Hellesdon High School, during which they will get to know the school and their classmates, ahead of their new start in September. Parents/Carers are also invited to attend an Information Evening where we hope to share key information and to answer any questions our new families may have.
Want to join us in other school years?
Students wanting to join Hellesdon High School in Years 8 to 11 are invited to arrange an admissions meeting with our staff. We encourage you to visit our school prior to applying for a school place with the Norfolk Local Authority Admissions Department.
Admission to Hellesdon High School is organised through the Local Authority. For more information on how to apply and how to get in touch with the relevant team – click here or contact the Local Authority on 0344 800 8020/admissions@norfolk.gov.uk.
The Local Authority is responsible for our September admissions, in-year admissions and the appeals process – please contact them directly to discuss any of these matters.
If we are oversubscribed, i.e., we have more applications than we have spaces in our school, we will use the oversubscription criteria listed in the admissions policy for the relevant year, to allocate places. Where we are oversubscribed, we will maintain a waiting list. Please note, your child’s position on the waiting list may move up or down. The waiting list must be ranked in line with our admissions policy criteria and therefore the waiting list is re-ranked with each new mid-year admission request. To see a copy of our admissions policies, see our policies page here.
